On YouTube, Versus videos are more popular than you think.
Here's why I like this format so much.
It's a concept so simple to understand that even a dummy would get it. Two things. One wins. That's it.
It creates a huge curiosity gap. People wonder "Who will win?" or "What's the result?" It's a great way to play with contrast between two things.
Whether you want to target the broadest possible audience or niche down, you can always find a debate between two elements that people are dying to know the answer to.
This is my favorite point. Before focusing on contrast, colors, or small details, start with composition and general concept. Nothing else will matter if the core concept isn't strong.
Versus videos are easily shareable because the results can be surprising, making them remarkable. People share them with friends and family. There's a reason why sports are so popular.
Bonus: It allows for short, clickable titles. Always preferable on YouTube.
One more thing: "Price versus" is by far the most popular template in this format. You might want to try it for your channel.
